India’s Data Centre Expansion Faces Water and Energy Scrutiny

India is increasing its reliance on data centres, with a notable development occurring in the coastal district of Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, in Andhra Pradesh. The region is anticipating a substantial change. On April 28, the foundation stone was laid in Tarluvada, a village within Vizag, for a new data centre. This facility is anticipated to become the technology company’s largest data centre located outside the United States. The development of this data centre is proceeding amidst growing concerns regarding its water and energy usage.
