Green building concepts in Bangladesh are expanding beyond the dominant apparel industry to include corporate entities and real estate developers. This shift aims to reduce environmental impacts and promote healthy workplaces.
According to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Bangladesh has 35 certified green buildings and corporate offices in sectors such as finance, corporations, and hospitals. The ready-made garment sector also boasts 290 LEED-certified factories. Unilever Bangladesh earned LEED-gold certification for its corporate building in 2023, signaling a move towards sustainability in office environments.
