An analysis by One Earth Partners, founded by former USAID officials, documents the impact of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) dismantling on global conservation efforts.
Around 100 conservation projects have stalled or collapsed in countries including Kenya, Bangladesh, Peru, Colombia, and Vietnam. These projects encompassed wildlife patrols, forest monitoring, community conservation programs, and environmental policy work. The U.S. President’s actions removed nearly $1 billion from global conservation and environment funding, impacting biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, clean energy, and pollution initiatives.
