How it is calculated: Temperature difference = cell temperature − reference temperature. Power change (%) = temperature coefficient × temperature difference. Adjusted panel power = rated power × [1 + (temperature coefficient ÷ 100 × temperature difference)]. A negative power temperature coefficient means panel output decreases as cell temperature rises above the reference temperature and increases when cell temperature falls below it. This calculation estimates the temperature effect on module rated power only. Actual field output also depends on solar irradiance, shading, soiling, inverter performance and other system losses.
