Energy is converted internally to kWh before calculation.
The production denominator should be consistent between reporting periods. For example, do not compare kWh per tonne in one period with kWh per individual product in another.
This calculator measures electricity intensity only. Where a production process also consumes fuels, steam, compressed air or purchased thermal energy, those energy sources should be analysed separately or converted to a consistent energy basis for a broader energy-intensity assessment.
