A low-pressure system situated over northwestern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southwestern Uttar Pradesh is leading to widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across central and northern India. This system, combined with an active monsoon trough, is expected to sustain rainfall activity over the next 24 hours.
Parts of eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh are under an orange alert, anticipating heavy to very heavy rainfall which could result in waterlogging and disruptions. Delhi and surrounding northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, are under yellow alerts for significant rainfall, with potential for waterlogging and traffic issues.
The northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura are also experiencing heavy rain and a high risk of thunderstorms and lightning. While widespread rain continues, temperatures in some regions remain above normal. Farmers are advised to take precautions to protect crops and livestock from the adverse weather conditions.
