Multiple Indian states, including Bihar, eastern Rajasthan, Kerala, and Odisha, are bracing for heavy rainfall as the southwest monsoon begins its withdrawal. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for these regions, anticipating rainfall between 64.5 and 115.5 millimeters, prompting a yellow alert.
A low-pressure area may form over the north Andaman Sea, potentially strengthening rainfall along Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are also forecast across many parts of the country, with stronger winds expected in southern and eastern areas.
Delhi and the National Capital Region could also experience partly cloudy skies and light to moderate showers, potentially causing temporary traffic disruptions. Farmers have been advised to take precautions against waterlogging and protect harvested crops. Despite the rainfall, some parts of South India are experiencing unusually high temperatures.
