Heavy rain has caused widespread flooding across parts of northern Vietnam, leading to submerged homes, disrupted travel, and rivers exceeding dangerous levels. Some areas have received significant rainfall, with over 2,000 homes inundated and many transportation routes blocked.
Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces are among the most affected. The flooding has also damaged approximately 24,745 acres of crops, with thousands of livestock killed. Authorities advised students to stay home in Thanh Hoa due to dangerous travel conditions. Vietnam is identified as a country highly vulnerable to climate change and prone to flooding.
