Cyclone Arnab has weakened into a deep depression, but heavy to very heavy rainfall continues to impact eastern and central India. Thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms are forecast for states including Bihar, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
Northern regions like Delhi and Punjab may experience strong winds and storms, with speeds reaching up to 70km/h. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of potential risks and urged residents to take precautions. Another weather system is developing over the southern Andaman Sea, potentially bringing further rainfall to eastern and south-eastern India.
A western disturbance is also expected to bring light to moderate rainfall and snowfall to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Hailstorms are possible in isolated locations, including eastern Rajasthan.
