India’s northern and eastern regions are forecast to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and possible waterlogging over the next 24 hours. A low-pressure system over central Uttar Pradesh is moving east-northeastward, intensifying showers across eastern areas.
The India Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts for heavy rainfall in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, eastern Madhya Pradesh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Some regions could receive between 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain. Mountainous districts face risks of flash floods and landslides.
Delhi-NCR may see cloudy skies with moderate showers, thunderstorms, and lightning. Meanwhile, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Mahe are expected to remain hot and humid despite ongoing monsoon activity. Winds of 40 to 50 kmph are possible in parts of Andhra Pradesh, with gusty conditions in other eastern and northeastern states.
