Fuel Carbon Emissions Calculator
Calculate fuel-related greenhouse gas emissions from fuel consumption and an editable emission factor.
Use the factor required by your country, fuel specification and reporting methodology.
Used only for optional annualized emissions.

Method:
Fuel emissions are calculated as:
COâ‚‚e =
Fuel Consumption × Emission Factor
The consumption unit must match the emission-factor denominator.
Examples:
litres × kg CO₂e/litre
kg × kg CO₂e/kg
m³ × kg CO₂e/m³
kWh × kg CO₂e/kWh
MWh × kg CO₂e/MWh
US gallons × kg CO₂e/US gallon
The calculator does not automatically convert a volume-based fuel quantity into mass or energy because those conversions depend on fuel density, composition and calorific value.
Emission factors vary by fuel specification, country, reporting year and whether the factor includes COâ‚‚ only or total COâ‚‚e including CHâ‚„ and Nâ‚‚O.
Biomass requires particular care. Biogenic COâ‚‚ may be reported separately under some greenhouse gas accounting frameworks, while associated CHâ‚„ and Nâ‚‚O may still be included in Scope 1. Enter the factor applicable to your chosen reporting methodology.
Annualized emissions are provided only as a convenience when the entered consumption represents a daily or monthly quantity.
