Home Energy Consumption Calculator
Estimate your household electricity consumption and cost by adding the appliances you use at home.
Electricity Tariff
/kWh
Enter your effective electricity rate per kWh. For slab tariffs, you can use the approximate average rate from your recent bill.
Appliances
Power should be the average operating power of each appliance. For appliances that cycle on and off, use average power or adjust daily operating hours accordingly.

Appliance Consumption Breakdown
Methodology:
Monthly electricity consumption for each appliance is calculated as:
power (W) × quantity × operating hours per day × days used per month ÷ 1,000.
The result is expressed in kWh.
Monthly electricity cost is calculated as total monthly kWh × entered electricity tariff.
For equipment with variable power, standby consumption, thermostat cycling or seasonal use, actual electricity consumption may differ from the simple rated-power estimate. A plug-in energy meter or utility smart-meter data can provide more accurate appliance-specific consumption.
