Kenya has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first African nation to receive crucial climate disaster funding.
This landmark funding is designated to identify Kenyans who have suffered losses and damages resulting from climate-related events within the last decade.
The Sh90 million, equivalent to approximately $700,000, has been provided by the Santiago Network on Loss and Damage. This United Nations mechanism operates from Switzerland and is sustained through voluntary contributions from various entities.
