In April 2025, an individual prepared to dive into the waters surrounding Beomseom, a small island located off the southern coast of Jeju Island in South Korea. The diver entered the chilly sea and donned scuba gear.
Last year, soft corals in this region were affected by a condition referred to as ‘slumping.’ The current observation is to determine if this issue will manifest again in the present year. The health of the marine environment around Jeju Island is under scrutiny.
