India faces contrasting weather: Heavy rain and storms, Rajasthan remains hot

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are threatening several Indian states, bringing risks of flooding, strong winds, and travel disruptions. A deep depression over Odisha is causing widespread rainfall and is expected to gradually weaken.

Orange alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha. Simultaneously, Rajasthan is experiencing extreme heat, with Barmer recording the country’s highest temperature at 43.6 degrees Celsius. Farmers are advised to protect crops and livestock from both the rain and heat.

The weather department has warned of disruptive conditions, including lightning and winds reaching up to 60 kmph in some areas. Residents are urged to remain cautious and follow local weather warnings.
