India’s Monsoon Forecast Revised, Signaling Potential Deficient Rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a revised forecast for the upcoming monsoon season. The new prediction indicates rainfall will be around 90% of the Long Period Average (LPA).

This adjustment in the forecast carries a notable risk of deficient rainfall. There is a 60% probability that the season could experience below-average precipitation.

Such a forecast has significant implications for various sectors reliant on monsoon rains, including agriculture and water resource management.
